C SERIES

The ‘C’ type plough. differed greatly from their predecessors, the main frame being constructed of steel plate and were a lot stronger in their construction and now had such features as ‘standing leg’ skimmers and sprung leg coulter arms and scalloped disc coulters. These ploughs were introduced around 1961 and produced until 1971 when Ransomes SCN bodies were fitted. Optional fitments were many and common parts from earlier series ploughs were fitted in various configurations.

The C type plough was available as either a CM (medium frame),model or CW (wide frame) model. All available in 3 furrow versions. Medium plough adjustable from 12 to 14 inch; wide frame plough adjustable from 12 to 16 inch.

The C type was also available with spring trip beams. Two types of reversible C type ploughs were also produced, the CMR2 and the CW2R. The latter being a wide framed 2 furrow plough. Early reversible C types were turned over by means of a hand operated lever with a counter weight at its base and later ones were hydraulically operated.
