DB 885 - Whereabouts of steering fluid reservoir

Post by Oldgustav » Fri Mar 20, 2020 8:30 am

I'm having a few problems with the hydrostatic steering - it seems to improve once things have warmed up. Thought I'd check the level but can't even find the reservoir! Also, the brake and clutch reservoirs that are in the cab, left and right of the steering - which is which? The one on the right is leaking a bit and is quite low. Big thanks.

About the brakes and clutch oil reservoirs. Please sit in the seat and look at the pedals, clutch at the left and brake at the right, right. Use only LHM fluid in the brake and clutch reservoirs. Normal brake fluid will ruin the rubber parts in the systems. The following link shows the Hydrostatic steering system in a Q-cab tractor. https://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-s ... 71ar993700 You need to get a Operator Manual for your tractor as soon as possible, as the informations given in the manual are essential and must be followed. You can buy a manual from the following company http://www.davidbrownparts.com/Books%20 ... nuals.html

Thanks ollek - yes, of course - it's a no-brainer re. the clutch and brake! Thanks for fluid tips and for the diagram. I have a manual but couldn't see from it where the reservoir is. I've got a better idea now.
