What Size Spring Compressor for an Implematic?

Post by blissakpo » Sun Nov 04, 2018 6:46 pm

When I get home next my first job is to whip off the head of my 950 Implematic to retrieve the end screw of a rubbish bit of kit I bought of Flea Bay to remove the copper washers after I eventually managed to extract the Injectors to send off for refurbishment, It unscrewed itself into cylinder number 3.

While I am in there I was going to give it a de-coke and got some excellent advise on this forum to re-lap the valves at the same time.

My question is... What size Spring Compressor do I need? ....It's not a tool I would use very much and don't want to buy a new one made of rubber from the Far East when there are plenty of good second hand ones available at reasonable prices (I'm thinking Sykes Pickavant) but everywhere I look they are only advertised as suitable for motorcycles, small to medium engines or agricultural which I'm guessing are the modern tractors with an E Boat engine installed. I would guess something that will open up to about 10" will suit but I would like to be sure.

Can someone give me a part number of a Spring Compressor that fits so I can narrow the search a bit? When I do a job for the first time I don't like to go borrowing I prefer like to buy quality tools that last me a lifetime.
