Rear axle oil seals in main frame of 1212

Post by daveleeander » Fri Aug 10, 2018 11:26 pm

I have removed the right final drive to work on the brakes, and while I've got it down I was going to replace the main frame rear axle oil seals. The oil seal housing has two 1/4" X 28 tapped holes in it. I have tried using them as jack bolts, and the housing hasn't budged (I'm afraid I'll twist the two bolts off if I give much more). Are these two holes for a slide hammer perhaps?

Hi Dave;
If you send me PM with your email address i can send you a copy of the tool required to remove the rear axle seal's housing, i tried to send you a scanned copy of the tool but can't get it small enough to attache it here, when you see the tool you will be able to make your own tool.
Hope this help you
