- further to the "compact David Brown" seen on eBay in Sept - now known to be a Satoh (Mitsubishi) in DB clothing , how about this even smaller version brought to the DBTC Meltham auction recently ?

Dont know whose it was - a very low key ( and relaxed- considering the work he must have put into making it) guy just turned the key and let the young 'uns climb on and punt it round the yard at the DBTC Museum site - I have a few shreds of video of it circulating - and some pics of the actual auction which I'm aiming to get to admin or any club official via DVD to the museum, as my Internet is measured in bytes rather than Kb or Mb.
I can try to post a couple more pics of it in small file format - bear with me its an endurance event ...........................

General overview pics of the DB Micro- and progressively dismantled.
Seemed to have a single GO when pressed, STOP when released pedal and not v direct steering - the youngster very nearly piled it into some unforgiving Yorkshire stone in the DBTC wall .......................

Ripe for restoration. Is it a Sharna pedal tractor do you know? Sharna made these pedal tractors into the 1970's but how much later I don't know, Sharna trade mark emblem was a small stick-on shield I think with either an S in it or Sharna in diaganol.

Not sure, PR. It was at the Cheffins Harrogate sale. I thought it was a Ford painted in DB colours (the blue paint being visible), but on later inspection the decals were all professional and I think I missed a trick (yet again!). It hopefully went to a collector. A couple of weeks after I saw a Ford pedal tractor (1980's?) based on the same moulding. So I do not know.

Great stuff. The blue put me off! The Ford tractor I saw was (not surprisingly) blue, and was just the same as the DB (i.e. weight frame etc. the Ford must have been based on the 1490, and then the Maxxum version that came later. I think the maxxum version was the one the guy painted 'back' to white to make the DB a few years ago. The Ford looked very little like a Ford, as it had the DB 90 series sloping bonnet ! Here are some later Ford ones - again the DB bonnet !

Like you say, Ford type is a lot later but rather strange that the manufacturer, probably Rolly or Roly, not sure if it has one or two t's, was using the D.B base as it's nothing like a Ford but done for economic purposes more than likely, a three year old kid would not discriminate, unless that child was a friend of mine's 3 year old!

RE: and now an undressed Micro DB................
The 1490 in the photos was built on a Rollytrac blue tractor from the early 1980s, the Ford pedal tractor is a Somby from the mid 1990s and is smaller. We built a 1594 from the Rollytrac and the smaller one will make an 1194
