Yesterday (20th September 2008) David Brown Textron at Park Works held an open day. They exhibited their heritage which of course includes DB Tractors and very kindly invited a limited number of DBTC Members along together with their tractors. By all accounts there were quite a few thousand people who attended and the general comment was that they were all very pleased to see that the David Brown name lives on.
It was, as can be seen, a glorious day and we as a club are indebted once again to the club stalwarts who gave their time to show off a slice of English heritage.
Raymond Townend brought four red tractors, Bob Marsh brought his experimental 995, Broadsword brought his immaculate 990 (if ever that tractor has a litter Andy I'll buy one off you
) There was a 780 Highway as well. Apologies to the people whose names I have omitted, please PM me and I will add your details so that you can have your deserved recognition.
Special mention should be given to Robert Sykes, our Treasurer, and Chris. Maddison, our Shop Manager, who, as usual, gave their time to help organise the event. It should be remembered that these Club Members all have young families and so their private lives are very busy and yet they all give their time to keep the DB name alive.
From the Directors and the rank and file Club Members thank you all very much

Three is twee, four does snore, but 6 just clicks........Scooby

Hi All,
couldn`t agree more with your opener Scooby - a great day out, the weather was superb and the gear factory itself was brilliant with plenty of exhibits and features on show - Big thank you to the club and all the exhibitors (I was just tagging along!!!). Also excellent to meet and talk to fellow forum members and put a face to a name.
Have enclosed one or two piccies of the tractors on show and also one of the star of the show Madders trying to get the club VAK1 started via the handle.
Think the picture need to be titled --- `Is it contact, ignition or ignition contact - Raymond you know more about these old classics, how do we get it going`.
Chris and co finally got her going the old way with a good tow - once she fired up ran as sweet as bell - not bad for something thats been in the museum for 3 years.
Cheers
Andy

Nice photos, we could have done with a bit of that weather back in June at the 20th anniversary open day.
