I have a 1958 DB900 which I usually use for our small agriculture for the most part for fun, we can manage with a rototiller and get a broken back at the same time so I prefer to use a tractor :-)

When I was growing up, the most popular tractor around my neighborhood was Ferguson 35, so when I bought my first in 1990, it was a FE-35 and the next was a FE-65. We sold our place in 2010 and I also sold my tractors :-(

In September 2016, it was time for a new and this time a DB-900 in 1958 in a sad but functioning condition. Now it's time to start renovating so I want to post some pictures and text that shows the work. As I understand, DB-900 was only a short period and with some lack of quality there are not many DB-900 in working order left.
I now have some time for this work and I have also made a place for the tractor in my workshop beside my lift where I work on our cars (3 SAAB a 96 V4 model from 1979, a 9000 CSE 1996 and a 9-5 linear 2003 and the Mini 1000 -1978). The restoration / renovation that I will do will hopefully result in a tractor in a veteran working order, it will not be an "almost as new" tractor.
I have also started to photograph some of my work in "For / under / after" the little adjustment / repair / renovation / ... and now I want to put the pictures and some text around this on the forum.

As I said the DB-900 works but in sad condition, the first job was to replace the steering wheel, but it was easier said then done when the hub got stuck on the steering column. I talked to a DBTC member at GDSF in August -18 and he told me to carefully use a hacksaw and split the steering wheel hub, so I did. Here are some pictures from that part of my work.
I really hope I don't use too many wrong words as my native language is Swedish and not English.

First I cut the three spokes with a hacksaw

I then split the hub.

After that I removed the inner part of the hub.

Now just the steering column is left and not too damaged.

At last the new steeringwheel is mounted. I did not found an original one but an after marked with OK quality for my purpose.

Until next time

The next is cleaning the diesel tank inside as I have a lot of rust coming out and get stuck in the fuel line. I have now opened the tank and when I am done with it am posting the text and some pictures.

I used "Slosh" tank cleaner and sealer on my pickup fuel tank which had some pin holes.

Worked well!
