990 Selectamatic instrument panel removal

Post by Wheelrim » Mon May 21, 2018 8:20 pm

Is there an easy way to remove the dashboard instrument panel from a 1968 990 Selectamatic?

I may have missed an obvious route but it looks as is the steering column also has to be removed.
My DB 990 Selectamatic repair manual does not mention it and I can not find any listings about it in the Forum.

After about 9 months of work, the 15 years of seized engine is nearly ready for taking me on a road run and I would like to inspect/clean the various electrical connections.

Problem solved.

A local person has given me advice that the steering column needs to be loosened and that has given clearance to remove the dash.
