Mark's '76 990

Post by mlong5967 » Fri Jan 23, 2015 4:03 am

Bought my first ever tractor last week. Its a 76 DB Case 990 Loader. It runs good and hydraulics seem to work. That's all I know for sure right now. No lights, tach or gauges work. I am pretty sure the block heater does not work either. I am excited to get into this project!
Looks like I am going to spend the next week or two cleaning it, I cannot even sit in it without being covered in grease! Surprisingly most of the grease fittings are dry..
I clearly will need to get an owners manual and some shop manuals but if anyone has any helpful info I would welcome it.

Have a couple empty holes, not sure what goes there. Colored warning lights are missing/broken. Can you buy any of this stuff new still?

Your tractor is in way better condition than any of my 990s. I have the 990 instruction manual in pdf format and can email it to you (but I think I already have done so?). I also have all the workshop manuals you will need.

Ryan, No you have not sent me anything but would love to get the instruction manual asap. I have been having trouble figuring a few things out with the pto. I bought a repair manual at Tractor supply but would greatly appreciate anything else you can send me.
My email is

Thanks Again, Mark
