We raised some money.

Post by Scooby » Sun Dec 07, 2008 10:35 am

Last Thursday evening the Montgomeryshire Vintage Tractor Club held it's annual bunstruggle. We use this occasion to present a cheque to the Wales Air Ambulance for all the money that we have raised during the year, principally through two road runs.

For those of you outside the U.K. the Air Ambulance is an organisation funded entirely by donations and is free (mercifully) from government interference. It is a vital service for the remote areas and, with the traffic as heavy as it is in a large part of the U.K. is becoming more and more necessary to get people to hospital in an emergency.

The first photo shows the presentation of the cheque from a couple of our Members to a representative of the WAA.

This 2nd one is the cheque.

And the 3rd one shows some of the prizes won by some of our Members at ploughing matches. We are very fortunate in having Evan Watkin as a Member of our Club. He has been Welsh National Champion 8 times and been 2nd in the World a couple of times. He stands in the middle of the group with the medal. Other Club ploughmen stand either side.

Excellent photos Scooby and even more excellent funds raised for a very worthy cause (and vital in your area of the country).

Suggest someone apart from you chooses the colours for the table clothes at next years presentation though

Hello Andy. Ah, you mean the orange & blue do you ?

And many thanks for your excellent photos of the auction and all the lots. Seems there was quite a bit of stuff there. I heard on the news tonight that the 1390 has been sold.

That looked a nice tractor. Just think Andy, totally enclosed cab, nice heater, handy for frosty road runs.

Well done and thanks.

David.

Just realised I forgot to say that the Club has raised in excess of £21,000 in the 5 years that they have been raising money for the WAA.
