This leaflet was recently on eBay and shows the "Allrad programm" of David Browns. Which shows a 1200,990 and 880 4wd. I understand that the 990 4wd is very rare machine but was never aware of a 880 4wd ever being built.

Translated from the german ebay sellers description:
"That shows all technical data folder in the format DIN A 4, punched with illustrations, technical data, dimensional drawing of David Brown railways Tractors GmbH in Seelze"

Any information on the 990 4wd or 880 4wd would be greatly appreciated, I'm currently looking for a parts manual on the selene axle as fitted to the 1200 and 990 plus any production figures and serial numbers.

cheers, lee

Regarding the leaflet on the 880, 990 & 1200 4WD tractors, These were Selene axles supplied from Italy and the tractors were special builds, that is to say, if the customer requested one in 4WD format from his dealer then it would be built but they were only built to order. It was only later with the advent of the 1210 on that D.B produced their own front axle, this axle was expensive to maintain, gave a lot of problems, mainly because of lack of maintainence and abuse from the user and was dropped after only a short time in favour of the equally costly Kramer MK1, then the MK11. These were then dropped for the Carraro axles. Some late 12 & 14 series tractors can be found with Carraro axles.
I have a leaflet produced by Selene showing their axles for David Brown tractors together with all the specs, it is in English and is very interesting.

I have db 4wd with selene front axle, and i search any documentation on it!
Does anyone how much 4wd are made with selene front axle??
For the frame number, i see on my tractors that the frame n° is the same as the oder tractors + an other n° : U2208 for the 1200 4wd , U2205 for the 990 4wd (german model)
