Red 1694

Post by nevilleporter » Sat Oct 01, 2011 6:26 pm

I was talking to a man today who has a red (CaseIH badged) 1694 4 wd hydra shift, he was told it was a Commerative Edition but it has a Case IH badge on the front and no comm decals. The serial number is 164/BJE/11531095* .
anyone know how many 1694s were built and where this one fits in?
Thanks Neville

Thanks for the information, this one would be a early red 1694. I knew there was only one Comm 1694, is it the last serial number?

Well Neville. Viewed that 1694 today. I know barry well, bought 2 tractors of him. I might shape it at the right money. He said you thought it was too much work and your not interested? Dont want to atep on your toes if your still interested in it. By the way I didint think it was a commerative from looking at it.

Hello Bernard, no I am not interested in that 1694, we are working on a red 1394 2wd, 885 high cab industrial and a Case 2290 4wd, there are others here that need a tidy up so the red 1694 looked too much work to add on top of what is already here. It will be good to see it going to a DB collector to get rebuilt.

The 1694 was built on the 5th october 1985 its 26 years old on wednesday . it is also correctly badged, there was only 1 com 1694 built . This was a special order and went to a dealership near hungerford . The last 1694 was not a com .

The hydrashift failed on the red 1694 and the white 1594 on the right was bought for the gearbox. Once it was stripped down the 15's gearbox was well worn too so the 16 got a fully reconditioned hydrashift gearbox fitted instead. It was sent back to the farmer as he said he could refit the cab himself. the cab was set on and never connected up, was pushed into a shed and forgot about. The man selling it had decided to get it going and tidy it up hmself. He is going to break the white 1594 if anyone needs any bits. I think it has a good engine and most parts are there.

I have eventually bought the red 1694, most of the cab controls have been reconnected and tinwork is off almost ready for paint.

Some photos of the 1694, I seem to always be over the amount of photos I can load and have to delete others to put any more on.
