Depends what year your 990 is. If an earlier 990 it will probably be a Selene axle. These axles were available as an option that would have been ordered through the dealers if the customer specified that he wanted 4WD, then it would be built in the factory. Actual numbers produced would not be specifically recorded as they would have been built on the assembly line with the 2WD models. The 4WD Selene axle was also an option on the 880 and 1200. Parts for this axle are now difficult to find and CNH will come up blank but Ford used these axles as well prior to the Roadless axle and Ford NH dealers still carry a selection of parts. You would think that CNH being now part of Ford NH would carry the parts but aparrently they don't.

Hi alex

You'll find that all the selene axles have green paint on them too which is a good indication of wether the tractor has been restored or not.

I've got an unofficial register going for 990 4wds so if you know of one or own one i'd like to add it to the list if thats ok.

Heres ours in an action shot
