Are you looking for the "stand-alone" type or the "wind-up" variation?

That, my friend, is absolute bunk. I was buying new DBs from 1967 to 1988 and they were made by the same people, in the same place, to the same standard.

By your yardstick Aston Martins (once owned by Sir David Brown) and Jaguars are Fords.

Take a trip to Coventry or Gaydon and try yelling that from the rooftops. You'll never make it home.

A little tip. If it has a fat gearbox and reductions that you can turn then it's a DB. They were like that in the beginning and they were like that at the end.

Oh, and by the way. I have a DB strand in my DNA if you haven't already realised that.

Some of the very late Meltham built tractors were missing the DAVID BROWN lettering on the top right-hand side of the engine block casting, this is when Case IH started to try and 'disguise' them. Still 100% D.B though untill the Maxxim first came out but some would argue that this tractor was a David Brown as at the time of the Meltham close-down a 1790/94 tractor was being developed with a D.B. Cummins engine and gearbox so the very first Maxxims were basically this tractor.

TO SUGGEST THAT THE 1594 IS ANYTHING LESS THAN A MELTHAM THOROUGHBRED WILL RENDER THE 'SUGGESTER' LIABLE TO A THRASHING TO WITHIN AN INCH OF HIS/HER LIFE WITH A COPY OF THE MELTHAM PHONE BOOK (1988 VERSION).!!!!!!
