885 Loader Operation with Going-Away Valve

885 Loader Operation with Going-Away Valve
DB 885 with Dunham-Lehr 22 loader and what I was told was a going away valve (GAV). The GAV, I am told, allows operation of both the 3-point and the loader simultaneously. Since that operation is possible I guess it is working as intended. Trouble is that when the tractor is pointed downhill the loader will often time fail to function or operation is very slow. The hydraulic fluid level seems to be critical, just slightly low and the problem is more obvious. Makes me think there is a pick-up position problem or the the pick-up tube (if there is one) has a leak or is loose at a point close to the operational fluid level. Have any ideas?
Re: 885 Loader Operation with Going-Away Valve
I am sure there is noting called "going away valve" as this sound a little bit odd, what is "going away" and where is it going to. If it is correct what you have been told, then I must say that someone has invented something impossible. I think there is a system called "Power beyond" and this is a plate on top of the double acting (Cessna) valve. But if the 3-point hitch and the loader works, newer mind. There can be 3 reasons for the problem you have when the tractor front is down. One is a leak at the O-ring (ref 18) for the filter blocking sender and the other one is a leaking O-ring (ref 13) at the rear end of the pump suction pipe. The third reason is a broken connector between the sender and the suction pipe (ref 15). The connector will brake if the PTO housing is removed without removing the connector first. Re: 885 Loader Operation with Going-Away Valve
The term 'going away' was likely morphed from the original term. It does not seem to be a common DB feature. Depending on where the tractor was sold new either everyone has it or no one has heard of it. Probably a dealer thing.
Ollek, you may or may not recall that this tractor is due to be split post harvest, I'll add your suggestions to the list of things to resolve while it is apart. Thanks for the link and your thoughts.

For now just add a extra Gal or two of Hyd fluid to the Transmission/Hydraulics, this will solve your problem until you have the time to fix it

Very important! Do not put plain hydraulic oil in the transmission/hydraulics. You must use a oil with transmission classification GL4. A suitable oil is a STOU or UTTO oil with a SAE figure of 10W-30 or 15W-30 (40).
