1394 pto clutch

Post by Rogeo1983 » Wed May 08, 2019 8:42 pm

hi Again

The PTO hand clutch has stopped working.

I have traced the cable from the rear left coming out of the cab all the way around to the front right under the steps to the lever into the clutch.

When i try to move the lever by hand, it seems to be coming up against a hard stop, but will not release the clutch. The lever moves about 1/2 inch but just stops.

Im guessing its a failed release link or bearing carrier, but before i go to the effort of splitting the tractor, any other tests I can perform?

Its a red 1988 1394 4wd Synchro with a cab.

for info the PTO works in both speeds. The engagement lever works fine.

Many thanks
