David Brown 770 (livedrive) cylinder head

Post by Johnnyd » Sat Apr 20, 2019 10:23 am

Working on a top end engine rebuild of our DB770, engine no. AD3 49A 3972. Looking for advice on the possible fitting a 780/880 cylinder head onto our 770 block. Understand the the different valve head diameters 35mm 770 head and 38mm on a 780/880 head. Would appreciate any advice if it is practicable and if any modifications would be needed.

Is there a reason for the change over or that it is in better condition than the original?

surely it is a very different engine, I don't think the head will fit at all, but otherwise may know far more
