770 Selectamatic Registration Year

Post by tractorfan » Wed Aug 15, 2018 10:43 am

I’ve purchased a white 770 but the registration mark is missing. Would anyone be able to date it for me, just by the serial number, please? I suspect it’s an early one as it doesn't have the three coloured lights on the dashboard.

Engine No: AD3/49A 2873

Thanks for any assistace.

Hi both,

Many thanks for the replies - a great help.

I suppose I will get it registered one day with DVLA. For now I’m just trying to get her up-and-running so I’m looking for a correct edition of the manual. If she’s late ‘66 I can look for a corresponding manual.

I bought the tractor from the Diss, Norfolk area many years ago wighout a logbook or a registration plate, so I’ll have to contact Norfolk archives in the first instance.

If you contact the LA in Norfolk Im pretty sure you'll need to provide the original reg number for them to be able to search their archives for old registration details. Thats how Denbighshire worked but unfortunately for me they had binned registration archives some years before I enquired!
