David Brown 2012

Post by johnclaude » Mon Apr 23, 2018 7:21 pm

Does anyone have any information on the David Brown 2012. I've looked on tractor Data base but it doesn't come up with the model. I'm considering buying one and just wondered if there is any faults to consider. Thanks John.

Can you double check that model number? I’ve never heard of it and google and forum searches both return nothing. Do you have any photos?

It doesn't matter when the tractor is registered. David Brown never made a tractor called 2012

Here's one but I don't think its a 2012, perhaps the person who renovated it has put it down for the year that he carried out the work. Looks like a 1490 or 1690.

That on gumtree is the one I'm on about.
Seller say it's 60hp, just wanted to know if they have any faults that needed to be looked for.

Why dont you ask him why he’s made up a model and put bogus stickers on it?

The model and serial numbers are stamped on top of the engine frame on the right hand side. The stamping location is showed in the following link https://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-s ... 78ar957628 The tractor looks to be a 1290 or a 1390, definitely not a 1490 or a 1690, but you can note be certain before the correct model number is known. Do not buy anything before you know for sure what you will get. Putting up a non existent model number does not give any positive thoughts about the seller.
