Which 4wd DB tractor best for hilly small holdaing?

Post by fajja » Thu Jun 22, 2017 5:27 pm

Hello,

Recent tractor trouble has got me thinking it might be time to upgrade the 770.

Our farm is reasonably small, most of the fields are on hills, some pretty steep for a tractor, and you have to cross rivers to get to some.

Because it's old the gates aren't the widest!

My question is, which David Brown model of tractor with 4wd is best suited for trailer / topper / grass work on slopes? I don't think we'd ever need anything over 100hp unless we got into some serious flail action.

if your managing with a 770 i would think a 1390 would suit ,one with the newer axle

We also have an old farm with tight gates etc.

We bought a 1394 in 1998, and still have it now. It does need some work soon to keep it out of the scrap heap, however, very compact, 4WD, great hydraulics, and good engine.

I would recommend it very much.
