How many tractors did Browns make............

Post by broadsword » Mon Oct 03, 2016 11:02 am

Thought I would tap everyone`s brains. A question has been asked on the DB Facebook page of how many tractors did David Browns make in total.
This question has been asked and discussed before on here but I`m beggared if I can find it - the silver jubilee was the 500,000th in 1977 and I thought it was 625/650,000 made (that is what `I thought` everyone thought of on here) but that is only 52 tractors made per week from 77 to 88 so am now doubting.
Anyone remember the discussion on here or took part - its now nagging me that the general concensus was 725/750,000 but as a few of you know `age plays funny tricks`!!!!
Just curious and would like to answer on the Facebook page.

Cheers

Andy

Ancy....Ido not recall the exchange and I cannot answer the question BUT.... I think you have week and day mixed. 52 per day sounds about right. There were effrctively only 42 weeks per year . If you take 52*5*42*11 and add to 500K - your original number was close.....Mike
