I have acquired the said make and model. The tractor starts and runs good but it is easy to see it has many well deserved hours on it. I have changed the fluids but before I do any work I need to get the temp and oil warning device operational. I would like to change out the temp and oil light for new manual gauges. Are the threads in the engine block universal with threads here in the states and will the usual temp and pressure gauges compatible with the DB1200. Any guidance in getting this beast ready for the field is appreciated.

Hi, yes the oil pressure switch is 1/8" thread. Most universal capillary temp gauges will fit ok.

The oil line is 1/8 BSP versus 1/8" NPT that is common here. The BSP is 28 tpi, NPT is 27. Sometimes you can get a NPT to seal in a BSP hole, sometimes you strip the fitting or it leaks.

Adapters are available, I have also run a 1/8 NPT tap into the hole in the block to allow it to take a standard fitting. Might work for you, but if you don't know what you are doing, you could ruin your block.

Most generic temp gauges have an adapter that will work with the hole in the head.
