I have a 1200 with 2 warning lights at top of dash. A few weeks ago while snow blowing i noticed some sparks from the right hand warning light...I moved it a bit and it stoped. This week when i went to start it, the battery was dead...
I checked the warning light and found the 2 wires welded together...thinking that it was the cause of the dead battery,I removed the light and sealed the 2 wires (so they would not touch anything. After that, turning the ignition does nothing...not turning, no clickes etc....
Any ideas what happened?
IS the right hand warning light required to bring fire to ignintion? or did I just bump some wires under the dash and now no fire??
not turning over
RE: not turning over
The right hand warning light should be a red light which is the battery charging light from the dynamo/alternator.
The middle light should be green. The Low oil pressure warning light.
The left light should be amber which if stays on signals that the hydraulic filter is blocked. This is from a suction switch under the rear axle.
Your problem sounds like a dead short to earth, possibly bad wiring up the back of the dash board. Leave your battery disconnected until the fault is found or the tractor may go up in flames.

RE: not turning over
Odin is partly right, but there is only two warning lights in a 1200. This is because there is no vacuum switch in the oil inlet pipe to the front mounted hydraulic pump. There is no amber light in tractors with front mounted pump. I would first off all remove the instrument panel and look for damaged leads and connectors and for possible damaged electrical components.
