I've recently had the rings replaced and liners glaze busted.
The big end bearings were replaced, the tractors now running, however, oil is blowing out of the dip stick, takes quite a few turns to start from cold, harder to start post rings replacement, when warm the engine won't start without the cold start button.
How long do I give the engine with a little work before the rings are bedded in or could this be a timing issue?
Regards
Daniel.

The crankcase is getting pressurised. Is the crankcase breather blocked?

How do you locate the crankcase breather?
Thanks

It is the thing that resembles an oil filter on top of the rocker cover.
Pull and twist it off and then wash it out with petrol / paraffin or something similar.

Daniel,
when you say she`ll only start from warm with cold start - is the starter turning slowly/very slowly or is she spinning over quickly/normally but not wanting to fire????
Cheers
Andy

Hi, some heavy / hard work is probably the order of the day. Cleaning the crankcase breather is never a bad idea, but it will still be hard to start and smoke unless they are bedded in. This topic has occurred many times on this forum and hard work always seems to be the only answer.

Thanks guys.
Andy,I would say the starter turns quickly when warm, when the engine isn't too hot it will fire up without the cold start.

You should be looking at a good day of hard work to see the rings bedding in, ideally more.
