The Selectamatic Hydraulic system.

Post by Scooby » Thu Aug 06, 2015 9:03 am

It is 50 years ago since the Selectamatic hydraulic system was released to the World. And for those of us who were buying and/or using these new tractors it was a revelation. When other manufacturer's system were, in some instances, nothing more than capable of sending the 3 point linkage up and down the new DB system was amazing. It was the difference between pointing a brick wall with either a pointing trowel or a shovel.

But, as with any accurate method of transferring a force from human hands to obtain a result the system had to be set up and maintained properly.

For those of you who are not already members of the DBTC I suggest that a subscription would be a very good investment. Particularly so since this month's in-house Club magazine begins the FIRST of several articles by Alan Kellet and starts to tell how the system works and what remedies are possible in the event of problems. Alan was an instructor in the DB Service School. What he doesn't know about the subject isn't worth knowing .

The knowledge gained by reading these articles, coupled with the expert assistance that is available on this web site will be invaluable to those encountering the system for the first time.
