Clutch master cylinder.

Hi folks
I need to take out and repair my clutch master cylinder, I've tried searching but that feature doesn't seen to work for me. Basically from which side do I attack this job, either in cab behind the panels under the steering or have I to become a contortionist and try to get it from somewhere I between loader and cab. Nearly forgot tractor is a 1973 1190.

You have to move the dash pod back to get at it which requires disconnecting the hand throttle, the stop cable, possibly the wiring harness connector, the set screws each side of the pod and you may also have to remove the steering wheel to lift the pod enough to clear the fluid reservoirs. Also don't forget that LHM mineral fluid is the correct stuff to put in the reservoir, both clutch and brake.

For the repair, do as Powerrabbit says. But for your knowledge, if the tractor is a 1190, it has to be from between 1980 and 1984.

Hi, further to Powerrabbits advice, you need to be very careful not to damage the dash - so many have been broken and they are very brittle.

It is probably best to remove the steering wheel and SLOWLY lift off (upwards and towards the driver), the entire plastic dash / console. Replacing the brake master seals whilst you are there may be a good insurance policy.

You should be able to get away without removing the stop cable. The job is not difficult but you need to check and double check everything or damage will occur.

Presumably you mean the tractor is an 1983 DB 1190 :lol: (ollek got there first!)

Yes she is an 83, fat fingers and small keyboard don't mix. Thanks for all the replies, just waiting for the repair kit to come in hopefully the bores in the cylinder are good.
