The panels are spot welded but you can fit and hold it in place with mole grips, drill the flanges at intervals and use small pop rivets which is better if you should ever have the need to replace it again.

hello greg i have fitted two nose cones to 990 bonnets and its a slow job .i cut the old nose con off with a disc grinder and left the welded seem on ,then drilled all the spot welds on the remaining bit of nose cone and it comes off nicely, clean up the edge left and drill 4mm holes every inch the hole way round then attach the nose cone with mole grips .get your mig welder and fasten two dowels on the end of it with a five mm sticking past the end.this makes a ideal spot welder.now hold it over the pre drilled holes and press trigger for about 5 seconds and this will create a nice spot weld through the hloe onto the nose cone and fill the drilled hole aswell, job as good as new
