Can anyone identify this gasket?

Post by Alchad » Sat Apr 06, 2013 12:28 pm

Hi all,

Long time no post!

I was out harrowing over the horse field this morning with my 1390. Stopped to uncouple the harrow, started to reverse and got a bit of wheel spin as I was in 2WD. When I got out near where the earth had been disturbed by the wheel spin I found this gasket. Now it may have been there for years - although it doesn't look like it, but I can't see where it could possible have come from.

Anyone identify it?

Thanks

Alchad

looks like a oilfilter head gasket of a perkins engine or something like that oil canister type head i wouldnt worry its not off your tractor unless you have developed a major leak

Could have been in the field for years and you've come across it just by chance. I would say that it's nothing to do with the tractor.

Reminds me of a circular dish shaped hard rubber disc with a large hole in the centre that I kept ploughing up in the same field for years, tumbled to me one day when I picked it up yet again as to just what it was, it was the rubber seal ring off the top of the engine oil filter from a 30D.
