Cheffins Sale Restorer

Just wondering what model Cropmaster/VAK will be coming up in the July sale. Here's a picture of the most ...

Cropmaster Diesel Engine Block
Hi,
Does any other David Brown model have the same engine block as the Cropmaster Diesel? The 30D, 25D, 900, 950 perhaps? Thanks.

Cropmaster Diesel Injecion pump
Hi, I'm after buying a DB Cropmaster Diesel. The injector pump however does not look like the one I've seen in pictures of the diesel Cropmaster, but more like that of a 950 Implematic (I've one of those too). Also, there are two diesel filters, one on each side of the engine. Were some Cropmaster D...

Re: RE: David Brown VAK1 Modifications
Robert. Not familiar myself with the governor speeds. These tractors, as all the other AK models, VAK, VAK1 AND VAK Cropmaster (VAK1C) types were fitted with an aid to engine warming, nameley a radiator blind. The blind was used to regulate the temperature and when covering the radiator totally wou...

David Brown VAK1 Modifications
Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying a fully restored 1940 David Brown VAK1, and I have a few questions about it: (i) I have read that the VAK1 tractors only had a two speed governer (1300 r.p.m. and 2000 r.p.m.). Is this correct, and were most governers changed to the variable type? (ii) The VAK1 took a...

Grease Nipples
Hi, My Cropmaster has old-fashioned large grease nipples, and therefore a modern grease-gun cannot be used. Can you buy an attachment for modern grease-guns that will enable them to be used with old grease nipples? Also, from looking at various original pictures of Cropmasters, I have spotted a wire...

DChandler, The Cropmaster was a much earlier model than the 990 Sel, and was part of the early generation of DB tractors. After the Ferguson Brown Type A came the VAK1, then the VAK1A and then the VAK1C (aka the Cropmaster). Modified versions of the Cropmaster included the 25/25C/25D and the 30C/30D...

DB Cropmaster
Hi,
I have a fully restored round-nose DB Cropmaster. I usually stop the engine by pulling the choke. Is this the correct way to stop the engine?
The magneto generates the sparks, and therefore disconnecting the battery has no effect, and the engine keeps running.
Thanks.
