Cropmaster Diesel Clutch

Hi guys, I am rebuilding the clutch on one of my Cropmasters. Does anybody know if the clutch pressure plate on the Cropmaster Diesel is the same size as that of a David Brown 25 / 30 /900 / 950 etc? Obviously the later 950s had live drive, but I just wondered if the pressure plate was the same? I'l...

That tractor looks great. Bought a restored Cropmaster Diesel at Cheffins myself about six weeks ago. Good to see all of these restored David Browns making their way over here to Ireland! Who restored the tractor in England? Could you post a close-up shot of the back of the tractor?

Smithfield Show Launch Tractors

Hi guys, From looking at various archive photographs of tractors on display at events such as the Royal Smithfield Show, it is clear that manufacturers built specific 'show' or 'launch' tractors that were typically finished to a higher standard than production models - better paint finish, chrome fi...

My new Cropmaster Diesel

Hi guys, Here's a picture of my new Cropmaster Diesel. I bought it fully restored, and it really is a concours job. The tractor has every little badge, plate, decal, light etc. on it, and every brass fitting is shining like new! Ever single visible bolt and screw was replaced with new zinc plated ve...

An update on the mystery of David Brown Gearboxes - I'm after buying a concours Cropmaster Diesel with a six speed gearbox, and the idling gears don't make a sound. There is just the usual David Brown whine when on the move. It's all due to a bearing on the input shaft. Fix that and the idling gears...

Thanks Andy. I'll put up more pictures when I get it home. I'll have to put wooden sides, a CAV decal, and the steel cover on both of the battery boxes!
