Re: How much oil in engine and in gearbox DB-900

If you search the forum for haynes manual, youll find a thread with a link to a load of manuals and youll find a 900 manual there. Its in english but you seem pretty fluent:)

Re: By-pass valve removal tip

If a dowel didnt work for you but a plastic plug and screw did, then your idea is definitely worth sharing. If it worked for you then theres every chance it will work for others. The internet and its forums are for sharing info/ideas/veiws, a principle often overlooked. Keep posting if youve got any...

Re: DB 1200

If its been stood for a while outside chances are theres water in the gearbox. As Geoff says, drop the gearbox oil and change the filter. Check if the 1200 has an axle drain plug and drain from there too. May be worth removing the gearbox filler plug, and leaving a hair dryer blowing through the box...

Which list would that be? Your number is within the range of numbers on the club web site.

Re: Spun bearing on 990

For the con rod, if the engine has been running for even a short time with only one bolt in place and one or both shells missing check for cracks, distortion or bruising where the shells sit. To get the crankshaft out for repair Im pretty sure youll need to split the tractor to get the flywheel off ...

Re: Spun bearing on 990

Where you go from here depends on how deep your pockets are, how much time you have and how important the tractor is to you. For what you could spend on an engine rebuild you can probably buy a running tractor. If the journal is scored but smooth you may get away with a polish and new shells. If you...

Re: Gear box oil change

Being from north of the border Im sure youll appreciate that if you search the forum for haynes manual, youll find a thread with a link to a whole load of manuals. Pretty sure if you look under the tractor beneath the gear sticks youll see round section of the sump with a drain plug in it. This is t...

Re: Hold Valve 990

Any excessive grit will end up in the bottom of the gear box, making no harm to the gear box. Really?? The couple of times ive changed the gearbox oil and cleaned the suction strainer theres been paste of magnetic bits stuck to the magnet. If small steel bits can get sucked through the strainer, th...

Re: 995 gauge upgrade issues

Try pulling out the black bit with the flat blade connector on it- I think that could be an illumination light. At a guess the 3 similar studs that look to be insulated would be supply/sender connections. As for compatibility youd need to get a data sheet for the new gauge to see how it could be hoo...

Re: Cropmaster engine and tractor numbers

The manual I took the engine prefixes from details SP as being the prefix for Super Cropmaster tractor serial numbers, but no mention of SC for either tractor or engine serial numbers.

I'm sure someone will shed some light on things soon

Search the forum for "engine number designations" and youll find a thread with the breakdown of engine numbers taken from a DB manual.

Re: 990 gearbox

My 880 doesnt always go straight into gear but if I let the clutch out and try again it usually goes in. I think its just a feature of a non syncro box??
