885 dash decals

I have located 990 replacement dash decals in the US but not 885. Any chance they are the same? The shift pattern and lift-to-stop decal look identical but there is no way to verify if they are the same size.

Re: 885 quadrant question

Ollek, found it, my error that is, in your linked article. Last week I had skimmed the adjustment chapter after finding and copying it from the clubs home page. Should have read it through before concluding it was right out of the DB/Case manual, so thanks again. Scott

Re: 885 quadrant question

Thanks Ollek, I have run into not being in the loop with the most current updates a couple times now, the Laycock clutch being one. I have copied the link so will review it and have another go. As you can tell, the DB/Case manual was sitting in the tractor seat while I was working. I had concluded y...

Re: 885 quadrant question

A guess is 3/4" (19mm), maybe a little more. Easy enough to measure exactly tonight. Especially if that number is excessive, give a shout back in the next two hours if it is. I was pretty particular about checking for movement of the spool valve while switching the selector.

Re: AD3/55 fuel pump cold start assist

I've heard back from Peter Williams @ DBparts. Ran the tractor for a good five hours over the weekend, no smoke at all so I'm thinking the CS must be turned counter clockwise or in the run position. That only means it's okay to run the tractor until the CS is fixed. Given the poor quality of past re...

Re: 885 quadrant question

Yup, what you said. The adjustments preformed in order. I looked at the adjustments of the valve chest after your first reply in an effort to find a reason for the spring to be so far forward to prevent the bypass from opening. It was only a glance but I saw the spool valve and T.C.U. with dial indi...

Re: 885 quadrant question

Ollek, I already have the article as well as a copy of the factory manual, thank you though. When "Height" control did not work in the field, I started with paragraph 257 of the DB/Case manual and worked through the adjustments stopping at "R & R AND OVERHAUL PUMP". During the connecting rod adjustm...

885 quadrant question

The rocker shaft cam has been adjusted and the connecting rod nut adjustment has been checked. This after a fluid and filter change. Had the tractor five or so months and this is the first time it has been up and running. Noticed the quadrant spring to be out place, the adjusting nut/stud was in the...

Re: AD3/55 fuel pump cold start assist

Emailed DBparts but might have lucked-out here at home. May have found a pump guy stateside with the seals. I'm waiting to hear. Thanks for the help.

Re: AD3/55 fuel pump cold start assist

Gave loosening the cold start screw a go last night using vice grips (locking pliers) without luck. Any more effort and I'm afraid somethings going to break. It's off to DB parts for cold start seals and, to make the order worthwhile, a pump seal kit as well. Will have a look to see if they have the...

Re: AD3/55 fuel pump cold start assist

I'll give it a soak and try as you both suggest. Last go at it with pliers had me afraid it was going to break. Is it more likely bottomed-out and stuck or has the spindle become bound through disuse and/or corrosion? dp2d, found the cold start seal kit at DavidBrownParts. I'm trying to find the sen...

Re: AD3/55 fuel pump cold start assist

Thanks dp2d. I have looked at several exploded views of CAV pumps, none showed a cold start. The small ball bearing you reference, is it captive, inside the removed unit? Best to be prepared if it falls free, don't want it to end up on the floor, lost. Here's to hoping the seals survive or can be di...

Re: Hydraulic lever

The handle on my 885 had been broken and repaired at some point in the past. A 3" long 5/16"-18 bolt was bent to the contour of the lower, inside of the handle. A nut was run up the bolt to flush with the base of the handle leaving 5/8" of the thread exposed. Then the bolt was welded to the inside o...

AD3/55 fuel pump cold start assist

The "T" on my 885's cold start screw is broken. It is also stuck fast, it will not turn. Can it be removed from the pump to free it and replace the broken "T" without creating a leak or an adjustment issue? If it is safely removed, what is the procedure? There are two nuts at the screws base that I ...
