RE: 1979 885 power steering

The belt is good, guessing that means the next port of call will be a pressure test. I can see this getting expensive

RE: 990 won

We used to have 995 that did this if you went diagonally across the gears i.e. from first to second. On the road you had to go from first into third then second or you were stopped pulling it to bits. If I remember rightly we ended up building up the ball on the bottom of the gear leaver to stop it ...

RE: Fuel tank removal

I've used the 885 to cart straw, 14 round bales a trip on a 4 wheel trailer for about 5 mile round trip. I've also used the 25d to turn the other trailer round in the yard (towed with modern loader tractor) the 25d has also had the pto compressor on to put a bit more air in a tyre. But I'm afraid no...

In the past I've soaked the splines in penetrating oil for a few days before removing. If it won't budge someone told me once you can grind a spanner down to slide in under th...

RE: David Brown 25D

Db2d beat me to it. I've had a look at mine and all the engine is red once you wipe years of oil leaks away  but that's prob why it's not really rusted
