Re: 1290 Hydraulic problems

As philedge says the reason the main hydraulics are not working is that bolt so it needs to be removed.

Re: 1210/990 parts

The part numbers are different so there is a good chance the parts are also different.

Dont block the oil feed line under the camels hump if you still want to use the quadrant lever to control the 3 point link and anything connected to the 3 way valve.
I did mention that in my last post.

Re: 1394 control valve assembly - where is it?

You won't do because it's inside the axle casing. The dump valve screws into the control valve and sit on top of the hold valve. If you remove the dump valve and the plate it goes through you will see the bypass valve cap beside the hold valve,

Re: hydraulic david brown

If you remove the block and block the rearmost pipe, a suitable bolt with an 'O' ring on will do, this will block the oil supply to the control valve so none of the tractors hydraulics will work. Then you have a constant pressure feed to the loader controls BUT YOU MUST HAVE A RETURNS LINE IN FROM T...

Re: hydraulic david brown

Under the block there are three pipe ends, the rearmost one goes done to the control valve, the middle one comes up from the hydraulic pump and the front one is connected to the tractors internal lubrication system. If you look under the block you will see the rear two are connected whilst the front...

Re: 1594 Trailer Brake

It maybe the spool valve (it acts like an ABS) it sticks so the spool does not allow hydraulic oil to pressurise the trailer brake system. The spool can be accessed by removing the end cap, with the bleed screw on, and remove the spool and clean it up. Don't forget the brake will need bleeding after...

Just remove the outer cable clamp and the split pin from the end of the inner wire.

Re: clutch and brake fluid in highway

I am sure Highway tractors use the normal brake fluid used in cars and the like Castrol Girling for example not the oil used in agricultural DB's.

Re: 885 overheating

Have you looked in the radiator as the water warms, do not remove the cap when the water is boiling, to see if there is turbulence as the pump works. If none then they may be a blockage, thermostat fault or pump failure.

We sold Claas rollants back in the 80's which worked well with DB's.

Re: New 885 brake pads not fitting in drum

I am sure you will have checked this but the outer lip of the drum, where the brake shoes don't contact, can get heavily rusted over the years. This often needs to be removed before the new shoes will fit.

Re: First time start after rebuild selectamatic 780

You need to check the circlip on the injector pump drive shaft/gear is in place. If this is missing the shaft can slip down far enough to pump the timing out far enough not to start. With the pump off you should see the circlip holding the shaft.
