Log Book Help

All, We (Admin) had a email the other day asking for advice on obtaining a log book. I did a quick search and came up with this thread http://www.dbtc.co.uk/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=5812&highlight=log+book Seems to me that it's worth turning it into an FAQ, is there anything else tha...

Scooby,

He could have still come on at half time and played better than 2/3rds of the team!

RE: david brown 3800

Silly question while waiting for the football to start - if say the petrol engine went kaput, would it be possible to transplant in a diesel engine? and if so which one?

S, Alchad here with Admin hat on! No problems re the number of photos, although it would help if you could get the filesize down a bit, have a look at this link http://www.dbtc.co.uk/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=5257 and have a play with the programs in it. Try one of them out when you'v...

S,

Pretty sure that's what you do - partly split and then get at the bolt.

Good luck!

McSpud,

See diagram below.

I haven't done it myself, but have watched a couple of other people do it - I'm prety sure 33 is the bolt you need to undo - as Denbute says.

McSpud, CAUTION!!! Hope this is not too late, but having just caught up with this thread I don't think anyone has mentioned the need to wedge betwen the front axle and the frame before you split the engine. If you aren't aware of this, don't proceed until you come back and someone will explain. Rega...

RE: 1490 clutch

Martin,

I'd be surprised if there was. Can't find my ITT manual at the moment to confirm though.

One thing-I recall having alook at the procedure a while back and bleeding the system aftards sounded a little tricky. I'll check when I find the manual if no one else comments.

RE: New oil in a 1390; where?

Roel, Good choice of tractro - I've also got a 1390, also a ood idea to change all the oils, then at least you know what's what. The Club Shop sells a 1390 Operators Manual http://www.dbtc.co.uk/shop/publications/owners_handbooks/703200_original_spec._1290_1390_instruction_books.html Regards Alchad

Martin, A few observations. I think I've had the best results removing rust/paint using a knotted wire brush fitted to angle grinders. I use a 9 inch for large areas and a 4 1/2 inch for smaller areas. Haven't looked, but I expect you could get a similar rotating type of wire brush to use with an ai...

RE: David Brown 1390 Donut

Great find ru88erduck,

The Ebay coupling I mentioned buying above didn't fit so I ended up- buying a secondhand one from Guy Hall. At the price you mention I think I'll buy a spare.
