Re: 770 Tractormeter

Thanks for the reply! I've now located a December 1964 and March 1967 770 manual which shows a different clock altogether, so the plot thickens!

Re: 770 Selectamatic Registration Year

Hi both, Many thanks for the replies - a great help. I suppose I will get it registered one day with DVLA. For now I’m just trying to get her up-and-running so I’m looking for a correct edition of the manual. If she’s late ‘66 I can look for a corresponding manual. I bought the tractor from the Diss...

770 Selectamatic Registration Year

I’ve purchased a white 770 but the registration mark is missing. Would anyone be able to date it for me, just by the serial number, please? I suspect it’s an early one as it doesn't have the three coloured lights on the dashboard. S/N: 770A 584035/S Engine No: AD3/49A 2873 Thanks for any assistace.

Cropmaster Tools

Were new Cropmasters equipped with tools?

If so what were they?

Thanks.

Cropmaster Horsepower

Can Anyone clarify the bhp of a 1948 Petrol/TVO Cropmaster, please?

Various print sources claim it to be 32, 34 or 35 bhp.

Many thanks.

Re: 880 Selectamatic Hydraulics Failure to Lift

Thanks for the help. Strangely enough the hydraulics started working again before I attempted any repairs/maintenance, so I don’t know what that little blip was about.

880 Selectamatic Fuel Sender and Gauge

I just purchased a fuel gauge for my 1967 880 Selectamatic, only to find that there doesn’t appear to be a sender on the tank. I’m assuming it should be at the front of the tank facing the engine . I have a first edition manual from 1965 which shows the early Selectamatic dashboard with a similar la...

Re: Cropmaster Ignition Switch

No coil nor battery. Magneto only and a handle-start.

880 Selectamatic Hydraulics Failure to Lift

On moving the hydraulics hand lever rearwards the linkage will not rise, and when the hand lever is moved rearmost into 'select' the characteristic whine of the pump is also absent.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Cropmaster Ignition Switch

Great! And what cable should I use? Will it be the same for earth and for connecting to the magneto?

Re: Cropmaster Ignition Switch

Sorry, I should have clarified that the melted cable is screwed to the dashboard, and the lighter-coloured cable goes to the magneto.

Cropmaster Ignition Switch

From the attached photos you'll see that the coating on the earth cable has melted. Does this mean that I now need a new ignition switch, or can I replace the cable, and if so, with what type of cable?

Many thanks.
