Testing Oil Pressure Switch

Is there a way of testing an electrical oil pressure switch? I thought I’d ask this before purchasing a new one.

Thank-you.

Re: Drain 770 Tank

My 880 Selectamatic has the fuel pipe leaving the bottom of the tank to a shut-off valve before making its way to the sediment bowl. Problem solved with the 770. I just disconnected the pipe at the sediment bowl and the diesel flowed out. I thought it was going to be a bigger job than envisaged. Tha...

Re: Drain 770 Tank

I could be wrong but the fuel delivery system to the sediment bowl on the 770 is different to that of the 880. There doesn't appear to be a shut-off valve, and the pipe leaving the tank for the engine isn't at the bottom of the tank as per the 880, but is at the top.

Drain 770 Tank

What’s the easiest way to drain a 770 fuel tank, bearing in mind the outlet is at the top?

Thank-you.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the above toolbox, please?

I can’t find one to buy so I’ll have to make one.

Thanks for any help.

Re: 880 Selectamatic Idling Speed

Oh dear!

It's currently at 1500 rpm.

How do I adjust it?

Thanks for your reply.

Re: Dealer Records

Ok, many thanks for the reply. An age-related plate really would have to be the last resort, but it looks as if I'll have to go down that route.

Selectamatic Stabilisers

With Selectamatic stabilisers appearing for sale here and there on the internet and at scrappers', is there any way of knowing which length stabiliser should fit a particular tractor? Parts catalogues don't mention the lengths, but the stabilisers for the 880, 990 and 1200 all have different parts n...

That is, records of tractors being sent from the factory to dealers.

Thanks.

Dealer Records

Does the club hold records of tractors being sent to/ordered by dealers? I have a DB with no registration plate and only a chassis and engine number. I’ve completed form V62 in the hope that the DVLA have a record of the chassis number and can provide me with the correct associated reg number. But I...

Cropmaster Petrol/TVO Fuel Issue

Having recently changed the seal in the change-over tap, the sediment bowl sealing ring and after cleaning the fuel filter gauze, the tractor seems to be having a fuel supply issue. On opening the float chamber the fuel now takes perhaps 20 seconds to appear, whereas the arrival of the fuel used to ...

Tractormeter Cable

I think I’m having problems with a tractormeter cable. When the newly-refurbished tractor-meter is connected and the cable is quite straight there doesn’t appear to be any problems, but once the tractormeter is housed in the dashboard and the cable is routed under the fuel tank, and a bend in the ca...

Re: 880 Engine Stop Cable

Thanks for the reply.

The cable is the same length as the original, but I now believe I created this problem myself!

I think I screwed the cable too far into the stop button and in doing so I don’t have much ‘give’. It looks as if I’ll have to disassemble and start again.
