Re: Back end oil

The lower links will jump up and down if there is a leak in the valve chest or in the lift cylinder or the pipe betwen the valve chest and the lift cylinder is leaking (O-ring leaking at the valve chest end or the pipe burst). Lift the load and close the supply to the lift cylinder with the 3-way va...

Re: Back end oil

Is the hydraulic system working correctly or is the pump staying on all the time and what oil are you using? The sludge grease looking substance you are talking about is water that have got into the oil. Please check the rubber boots on the gear levers.

We blew air pressure through the pipes and found that the copper pipe running to the tcu unit was burst and letting all the pressure out". This i...

Re: 1394 hydrashift

You can leave the fuel tank on if you take the gear box top off and split the tractor betwen the rear axle and the gear box frame and fasten the box to the rear axle. You can then move the rear axle togeter with the gear box to the rear, rolling it on the rear wheels. The complete gear box will slide...

Re: AD3/55 880 Selectamatic new rings?

Why do you want to use a crome plated top ring? The hard crome surface will make the running in time to be much longer.

There is no reason to remove the ridge if you chamfer the top ring so that the ring will not get in contact with the ridge.

Re: 2wd 1490 tyres

Standard tyres is to a extent depending on the country. In Finland the tractor was sold with 11L-15 front and 16.9-34 rear. The factory list of tyres incudes 7.50-16 and 7.50-18 for the front. For the rear the list says 16.9-34 or 13.6-38 or 18.4-30. For the maximum size you have to consider the spa...

Re: AD3/55 880 Selectamatic new rings?

I can not see any risks in fitting new piston rings. There is one thing to remember, file the upper corner of the top ring to a 45 deg. angle, so that the ring will not hit the bottom of the shoulder created by the wear in the cylinder.
