Re: DB 990A Implematic Hydraulics Not Working

Extending the cable with the control lever in the lowering position will move a spool valve and the snow blower should lower. You can do this without fitting the cable onto the top link.

Re: Drawbar

Welding drawbars can be dangerous because afterwards they can suddenly snap.

Re: DB 990A Implematic Hydraulics Not Working

As a quick fix to lower the linkage, fit the sensing cable onto the top link but be careful whilst doing this as the snow blower may drop suddenly. Fit the cable with the control lever fully back in the raise position and then move it forward to lower.

Re: DB 990A Implematic Hydraulics Not Working

The valve does divert the oil either to the ram cylinder or loader. It is not a spool valve and works like a tap, the knob has to be turned either fully in or out. The valve will not divert the oil without the nut in the centre of the knob being in place. It is possible that there is a problem with ...

Re: DB 990A Implematic Hydraulics Not Working

It is extremely unlikely that a blockage in the ram cylinder is the cause of the problem on your tractor. From the explanations you have given I suspect a valve is closed and not allowing oil to and from the ram cylinder. To operate the system the two way valve has to be closed to external services ...

Re: DB 990A Implematic Hydraulics Not Wor

There is no downward pressure pressure on the rear linkage— lift and hold only.
The linkage is free t
The filters and pumping mechanism will not stop the lift from lowering.

Re: Leaky fuel pipe at injector.

New steel compression olives are readily available.
Cut off the damaged nipple and fit a new olive. Pass fuel through the pipe before connecting to the injector to be certain no foreign material enters the injector.

Re: 990 Implematic

The cross boxes on the pre-Implematic tractors had to be drilled in order to fit the three way valve. The Implematic tractors had the holes drilled during production. Later Implematics without cross boxes had a different type of valve.

Re: 990 Implematic

Both valves were optional extras. The three way valve was for tractors with cross boxes. Early Implematic tractors did not have height control but they did have a sensing cable for draught control and TCU.

Re: 990 Implematic

The two way valve dates from Cropmaster times and was superseded by the three way version that has an extra take off point.

Re: 990 Implematic

The unit on the left side is called a ‘ Two Way Valve ‘and it diverts the oil to either the rear linkage lift cylinder or the front end loader. In order for it to work it must have a flat washer and a castlated nut with a splitpin on the spindle in the centre of the knob. The thread is 1/4 inch BSF....

Re: 990 Implematic

Could you please supply a picture of the valve on the left side so that we can identify the type fitted. The rear linkage maybe locked in the fully raised position by the lift latch on the left side at the rear of the hydraulic lift cylinder. On the right side of the cross shaft there is a short lev...

Re: Steering box and hydraulics

A 780 steering box will not fit any 990.

Remove and clean the gearbox/hydraulic filter that is situated in the rectangular plate underneath the gearbox.

Re: 1490 radiator cap

The threaded hole is used to fill the cooling system as stated. It is then closed with a plug and sealing washer ( similar to a sump drain plug ). On the other side there is a tube connection to the overflow/expansion tank that will have a pressure relief cap.

Re: DB Brakes

The bushes are very thin, I would be surprised if they need replacing. Clean the shaft and refit using a good grease lubricant.
New cotter pins are available. I recommend changing the axle oil seals and checking the brake shoe anchor pin for tightness.
