Re: Brakes 990

The diff lock pedal should have been secured in the engaged position prior to removing the right hand reduction unit. If this procedure has not been done the diff lock sleeve will drop out of the selector.

Re: Leak in catch knob/ramshaft cover- 880 Implematic

Remove the circlip securing the latch knob after raising the lift arms by hand until the knob starts to come out but does not latch. The knob can then be moved forward exposing the circlip. Remove the nuts from the top two bolts and knock out the bolts. Remove the bottom two bolts. Remove nuts from ...

Re: 1967 990 engine block

Try the easiest options first, flush the system and then add K-Seal or equivalents. Welding is very rarely successful and usually ends up as a disaster unless done professionally which is very expensive.

Re: Dash board lights-885

There is nothing special about this warning light, no voltage regulation.
When the cut out points in the regulator/control box close the circuit to the warning light is opened and the light is extinguished.

Re: 1960 950 Hydraulics - Drifting up

I am not going to get involved in an argument but the method described for replacing the friction discs is definitely not the correct method.

If the control lever will not stay in a set position it has to be the options I stated.

Re: 1960 950 Hydraulics - Drifting up

Briefly— I suspect the problem is the friction discs on the control levers. If the control lever is loose there are three possibilities 1.The discs need adjustment. 2. The discs are worn out 3. The mills pin has sheared in the lever inside the control box. The valve unit pictured is not the cause of...

Heat the bolt really well, including the head and let it cool.
Heating the bolt makes it expand and when it cools it contracts thereby breaking the corrosion. Not as drastic as heating the arm.

Re: How much oil in engine and in gearbox DB-900

I would not recommend the manual mentioned because the DB 900 had many modifications throughout its production and early working years and there are many discrepancies. These manuals should be accompanied by the manufacturers upgrades and service bulletins.

Engine 2 1/2 gallons sae 30 Diesel engine oil. Gearbox sae 50 but I recommend sae 90 gearoil , clean the filter situated under the gearbox in the rectangular cover. Reductions 2 pints sae 140 each side.
