Thresherman

Whats left of a very rare thresherman. Sadly the winch (available form another lot by the seller!) and front pulley is missing as is the original petrol/tvo engine. It would be a shame to see it scrapped though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=2204465711...

RE: Could be a good project

Sounds like it could be a rare little tractor then, its a shame he had started restoring it as i'm sure he'd have a better chance of selling it unmolested.

Re: RE: Mcdonalds new tv ad

I think that the tractor in the ad is actually a 990 Looks like a 990 to me too. In fairly good nick too, shame the gold grille is missing....unless mr mcdonald ripped it off for the advert. There has been quite a few david brown tractors making it into adverts recently, the muller rice ad with the...

Those k97f plugs do retail at near the 23 quid mark with vat so for 4 he would only be making a little profit, £100 pound for four does look a little excessive!

Hi Lambo You might find that it is the resonance (sound frequency) of the exhaust tone that is causing the disturbance. I used to work with a petrol strimmer at a retirement park, the strimmer at full revs would interfere with the residents televisions. I suggest you could try getting another exhaus...

Hi Joe Thanks for adding the pictures, I remember seeing this tractor on eBay and thinking it would be a good buy!!! She has quite a few early parts fitted to her, including bayonet (instead of screw type) fuel caps. Guard these with your life as they are near impossible to get again. It seems to ha...

Hi Joe From your serial number it looks as though your tractor was made during Christmas time of 47'. Before April 48' cropmaster were only available with a single speed PTO or a diff cover, which you have fitted to your tractor. As for having "David Brown" cast onto the block, I have three and only...

She does look a bit nice, the price is slightly off putting. On the subject of Fishleigh and sons, they've got a very, very cheap 1490 for sale!!

No, there was a hole which was tapped, with a screw in it. The screw was holding a plastic block about 3/8" square which looked like the remains of bracket for something. Highlighted on the picture where it was.
