Re: A Cropmaster Hitch of some sort

Thank you Scooby. That is very detailed and I noticed that our main Cropmaster has a pair of "C" section bars running across the rear under the diff like in your second picture but they are one behind the other. I will look at making the "fish tail" section and see if I can find a pair of short arms...

A Cropmaster Hitch of some sort

I bought a spare Cropmaster to raid some parts from to fix the main one ready for paint. It came with this unusual hitch that I have a pic of from an implement book but I'm not sure what it does or how it works. For a joke I hooked it on the back of a TEA20 to go to our Club Rally to see what commen...

Using the normal fluid will be fine with no bad after effects.

Re: Oil leaks

Sounds like a very good plan. Better than putting it back together run it and then find the problem area and pull it apart again. But you might need to give it a good work out or have it under load to get the leak to show. Let us know how you get on.

Re: Refitting Cropmaster Clutch

Try loosening the pressure plate bolts so that you can wriggle the clutch plate until the shaft enters the spigot bearing. It does sound as if it was not centred before installing the shaft. I had a lot of fun removing the old clutch assembly for replacement at the same time as doing the engine rebu...

Re: 30d hydraulic pump

Don't give up josh, db2d is offering the best advice so keep at it. Sounds as if you may have found the reason for no lift so be patient and keep at it. I couldn't see how I was going to remove the clutch assembly to do an engine rebuild in one of our Cropmasters but I persisted and found that it di...

Re: Not DB so if it offends then I apologise.

Something to aid the use of round up on woody stems is to mix it 50/50 with dieseline. This is something that an old farmer told me a long time back. The idea behind it is that the diesel thins the round up and really penetrates down deep and quick. It worked very well on some cannon lillies I had a...

Re: An Aussie Cropmaster

Very nice find Pete and in remarkable condition. Once you have all the issues sorted then you will thoroughly enjoy the Cropmaster like we do with ours. The frame for the dual seat is very easy to make and attach. I re made the padded sections of the seat myself and they worked out very well. The on...

Re: 1949 cropmaster

I do like the knobbly tyre look though! Your magneto can be rebuilt to throw a good spark again. I have a magneto on the shelf in the shed which is a project to get working properly again. Biggest problem is I need the magnets recharged and this will cost a few beers with a mate so it wont be cheap....

Re: super cropmaster

Would the serial numbers help identify the model and if it was a Canadian export? Or has it been changed over by the old owner?

Thanks for posting those pics John. Love the front mudguards and those rear wheels and especially the naïve plate attaching them to the hub.

Re: DB Club in Australia

Hi Guys, I'm looking at the possibility of converting our 30C Super Cropmaster to being a tug or towmaster style tractor as we would like to have something different on the Rally scene here. What I need is some good clear pictures of how the guards and running boards are fitted and hoe they should l...
