Cropmaster or not ?

In another thread 2 members bought to my attention that my 30c Cropmaster is not actually a Cropmaster. So now I need to find out why as when I looked up on the David Brown Tractor site in the UK it says that the prefix CAK is Cropmaster Agricultural Kero. So where am I going wrong as I do want to l...

Re: APOLOGIES !!!

Thanks for clearing up my muddled mind as I can confuse myself enough without any help. History of COBBADOG. A very long time back now when I was still a teenager I bought a dog and named him Cobba ( Aussie for MATE). Then over time you get asked if cobbadog was going with you or not and in his much...

Re: Newby 25d

What a great little tractor Lawnsy, I can't wait to see how you get on with your brakes as you will be doing your before I get to do ours on our Cropmaster. It wont take long before you learn to love the David Brown mark as we do. Hope you have more room as others tend to follow you home after a whi...

Re: Oil Leak

I have been in contact with David Brown Spares and if required I can still get a pair of std size rings for the cylinder. So maybe with a slight hone this may also cure the problem of oil bypassing the rings but I will also go hunting for the drain hole that must be blocked. When we rebuilt the engi...

Re: Cropmaster brakes

That's very interesting ollek. so what does the CAK stand for in your list please? Going by the list from the David Brown site CAK = Cropmaster Agricultural Kero and this is the information I base my tractor as a Cropmaster. Yes it is approximately 3/1954 manufacturer but this info is only based on ...

Re: Oil Leak

OK, that makes sense in my pee brain so will look at changing over the complete units next time I play with it. As I understand what I am looking at I must undo the hydraulic banjo fitting that supplies oil pressure and remove the bolt and the copper washer/s. Is this right? Once the hydraulics are ...

Re: Cropmaster brakes

I am working on it being a 30 C Cropmaster as the numbers say it is.
CAK.4.3.6072 P-45770 Early 1954. with a petrol/kero engine

I like your idea of possibly fitting an extra seal and packing it with grease, thank you.

Re: New member

I bought all my engine rebuild parts from David Brown parts and they were a real pleasure to do business with and after sales service is excellent.

Re: Clarendon Classic

   The very first time I saw this type of display I laughed for hours. Now it seems to be happening a little bit more out here. They are only parts that have been cut down and planted into some sand to give the appearance that it has sunk into some "quick sand" I can only hope that th...

Re: Cropmaster brakes

Thanks again dexta and to you too ollek for your input and helpful advise. I have no intentions of going inside this area and not replacing any seals that I can. I only want to see inside here once and then enjoy the tractor rather than being a slave to it. Virtually no Lorry drivers out here change...

Oil Leak

Hi Guys, I've just getting back into the repairs on our David Brown 30C Cropmaster. It had a broken part on the 3 point linkage arm and in this case on the right hand side. I had another part which was not broken and last weekend I swapped the parts over. Now there was a very slight oil leak from th...

Re: Cropmaster brakes

Cheers Dexta and thanks for your reply. That was always going to be the best way but an engine crane on a gravel floor doesn't seem to work too well. will look at dragging the truckie from across the road over to help one weekend when he is back home. I will be replacing the seals that you mentioned...

Cropmaster brakes

Hi Guys, I have been slowly doing up our David Brown 30C Cropmaster. First was the engine rebuild along with a new clutch assembly while we were that close and that all went very well and the engine runs nicely and takes us on a few tractor treks around the area. For ages I have wanted to continue a...
