Re: cropmaster oils

Cheers, thanks for the info. I will order in some oil later today to do the job. Probably have to get 5 litre container but that's not a problem.
Thanks again, Cobba

Re: cropmaster oils

I noticed that you suggest to use SAE140 in the reduction gears on the Cropmaster. What quantity is required for this section as I am about to remove mine to get to the brakes to check and repair if necessary.

Re: Problematic starter/solenoid engagement fixed.

Meanwhile back on topic, I have a question that sounds like ollek can answer for me on this very topic. I have a 1998 Hino truck, 8 ton GVM and it does what has been described at the top of the page. Normally works fine but sometimes as described will not engage and sounds like it is free spinning. ...

Re: How to get normal engine operating temperature faster?

Our Cropmaster can sit in the back yard turning over at idle or mid to even high rev range and it will never register on the temp gauge and this is on a 25'c day. Only the use of the radiator blind or by driving it around the block does the temp then start to rise. Yes the blind restricts air flow p...

Sometimes you need to find the hens teeth under the frogs feathers for all the planets to align.

Re: Cropmaster (gear driven dynamo)

There is not usually too much that can go wrong inside the generator. After cleaning and polishing up the commentator with some fine wet n dry paper then cleaning the gaps between them carefully the next and most important thing is to fit a new set of brushes. Mine cost about AU$3.00 each but well w...

Very soon I am about to start on my brakes on my Cropmaster. Not looking forward to lifting off that reduction hub to get to the brakes.

Re: Wiring extra spot lights

Also consider one of those led light bars. They spread a good bean similar to a flood light not like a spot light.

Re: Cropmaster (gear driven dynamo)

You can try stripping the dynamo and cleaning it up inside. I had a wasp nest in a generator once and this was cleaned out and it improved but later found that the voltage regulator was not too good. Fortunately the local auto electrician was able to get a second hand one out of a scrap box and he r...

Re: Cropmaster or not ?

Hi again, Believe me I am not trying to make it difficult as at no time have I not believed the information being sent to me but still requiring a reason why it has CAK as Cropmaster style tractor. It is a genuine question in trying to understand the id plate and the prefixes used. In the list CAK d...

Re: Cropmaster or not ?

Thanks again ollek, That is the same list I have here. Yes I do understand that the numbers show my tractor as a 30C but the prefix on the plate on my tractor is CAK. So it is that prefix I am trying to work out as the list shows Cropmaster Agricultural Kero. I find it all very confusing. If this pr...

Re: Cropmaster or not ?

Is it possible that someone can then tell me what the prefix CAK stands for on my tractor please?

Does this site have a link to the models of David Brown tractors?

Re: Cropmaster or not ?

I took my information from the David Brown Australian site and then there is a link from there with the information that I have based my misled info on as I think that maybe I have mistaken the prefix CAK as Cropmaster Agricultural Kero. It does show that further down the list what it is that you ar...
