RE: Solex 30-FV carby

s the seals on the main shaft. No felt was available at the time and they were handy. So far they are working a treat. This is the first carby I have seen with needle rollers on the main shaft and not the usual bronze type bushes. Thanks for your advise and help.

RE: Solex 30-FV carby

Hi Cindy, I found the same problem as you, no kits available here in Oz. Having said that I ended up making my gaskets but the main problem I found with my carby was that all the flat surfaces were distort and did not seal against each other. So I sat down with some wet n dry paper, soapy water and ...

Electrics

Can anyone help me in finding a supplier of points, condensor, rotor button and distributor cap here in Australia. It appears that Lucas parts are no longer available unless you have NOS. Also what has happened to the DBTCA forum here? Has it closed? I can't make a post on it and I am advised that o...

Good Morning Tom, I have just tried to make the link but it does not work. It only brings you back to dbtc.co.uk Can you double check your information and be certain if it needs capital letters or not as this makes a big difference to how it finds any sites. I have already tried upper and lower case...

RE: Solex 30-FV carby

I have managed to get all needle rollers in place and I have used an 'O' ring in place of the hard dries up seals all with a slight improvement. I think I will source new 'O' rings that are a bit thicker and that should be all I can do for now. Still not sure about a gasket kit if anyone can guide m...

Solex 30-FV carby

Our 30C Cropmaster has this Solex 30 C-FV model carby on it. I thought that maybe it was sucking air in through the main shaft so I have removed the carby and then stripped down the throttle body. To my amazement the shaft runs on needle rollers and has tiny little seals at each end of the shaft. My...

Finally got nice clean oil in the gearbox / diff and find that the hydraulics work so well. even at idle the carryall lifts me up and down easily and no strain on the engine. I am about to check the water distributor in the head and make sure it is clear from front to back. If it is all clear is tha...

Water Distributor

I am getting closer to getting our Cropmaster 30C ready for on road use and I wnat to check the water distributor in the head. As I already have the bonnet and grille off I was thinking of removing the radiator and necessary parts to check the distribtor. I also realise that the plate on the back of...

I have been in contact with Jack about some parts but my request was a big ask. I am still after a scuttle plate for our 30c Cropmaster and if available some side panels to suit. If anyone can help please let me know.

RE: Re: RE: Gearbox Oil

Thanks for the tip about the filter. Have ordered SAE 90 and will be here next week. Now have a mix of petrol and diesel in the gearbox to wash the emulsified oil out. First lot did remove some of it from the gearbox but the diff is still a thick mess. Have put another 16 litres of mixed fuels in dr...
