Malvern Tractor Winge
From being in the Malvern area at 9.00 am it took the best part of 2 hours to get into the show ground, why ? Because of the most simple set of traffic lights on a simple cross road that allows about 4 vehicles through per light change. We sat in a traffic queue to a show, that to me was not that bu...

RE: 990 - how to lower 3 point arms to less than 19" of
Is it a 4wd ? Have the rear hubs been moved around to increase the ground clearance? This is a problem that I have with my 1210 FWd on a Kramer front axle. When the arms are in their lowest position, they are just not low enough for some implements.

Just a point of interest as VOSA was mentioned. No longer VOSA but now the Driver and Vehicles Standard Agency ??? Headed up by a new Minister of Transport, Robert Goodwill, a Tory Whip and Yorkshire Farmer from Malton. (Wonder which classic tractors he collects and will he be at Malvern next week) ...

RE: 885 pick up hitch
Hmm ? I have a 71 - 885 without cab which I bought the 'boomerang' brackets which I understand are the same as the smaller 780 ? This has long steel bars down to the pick up hitch / hook, which is a one piece assembly. ( a bloke bought 2 of them at the last DB auction ). My other 885 is a 79 with th...

RE: 885 pick up hitch
The 885 brackets, ( the boomerang shaped plates ) are smaller than the 990 . The correct brackets do bolt straight on, but then you have to find the correct hitch bracket. What year is your 885 abd if it has a cab , which cab ?

RE: Too flush to weld
De Walt make a set of drills with a point. I have had a bit of success with these drills, cost £80 with vat but in the 2 month of using them they are paying back and none broken yet.
Make a good centre to work to, not easy with a broken bit in there, go very slow with the drill an lots of oil.

RE: DB Top Links
Everything in Christendom fits the 990,including Lego or Meccano, but when I go 885 or 1210, then there is always an issue. We picked a DB spud spinner up in summer ,works but the top link eye is that restricted it has 5/8th bolt in it. Even the little early Cat 1 link will not fit with the correct ...

RE: db LQ8 loader
Funny enough, I 've just been working on my 885 loader arms today drilling out snapped bolts. Need to fabricate a cross member for the tipping ram to mount on. (not got a ram either) , but I have a leaflet that I picked up from LAMA this year for a ram firm who reckoned they could match one for me. ...

RE: DB Top Links
The other measurement is the size of the ball ends , like you have mentioned 770 to 885 are the smallest and I do not think I have one in DB because all my ends are a tight fit in to the tractor top link draught. Also I have a few early implements (1950s) and nothing in DB will fit, only spurious or...

DB Top Links
Is there any information on DB top links ? I am acquiring a few different DB top links, usually seized or with a knackered ball. Whilst they all look the same, they are different in length . Obviously for larger or smaller models, but which ? I used one with a 100mm shank in a ploughing match and I ...
