Re: RE: 880 david brown diesel AD3/55 perkins

Thanks for the information. I was told that it was a Perkins engine. One of those things over here. Pretty everyone wrongly assumes if it was built in Britain, that it has a Perkins engine. Does,'t matter if it is a Ford, IH, or DB. Some folks will argue to the point of hostility that their Ford ha...

Filters for a 900 diesel

I am finally working on getting that 900 diesel I purchased last year ready to work. It needed tires and wheels... done. Had a set of rims from an 1194, and a set of nearly new Firestone 14.9-28s. Broke off a stud in the hub, had to make one on the lathe, not much in the way of Whitworth parts avail...

Does the clutch work if you "pump" the pedal a few times?

I have taken my 1494 hunting many times. The loader is very useful for hanging deer and hauling them back the house. I don't know why a 1594 couldn't be used for the same.

RGDS erkki
Unless it is a 4x4 with a loader, and someone uses it as a bulldozer.

40 psi is pretty normal. A worn engine will drop well below that when hot at idle.

Smaller mains and rod journals... same as a 1200/1210.

Both 1394s here run 10psi when working at full load. My 1494 will peak at about 12psi.

RE: Help identify HP horsepower

By that serial number here, it would have had hydrostatic steering not PA. Keep in mind the hp the guys above are listing is flywheel hp... The only people using flywheel HP here are the ones selling new machines. Historically everything sold here was rated at PTO HP, in which case 65 hp would be th...

880 of some sort. Certainly not an 885 or 4600(hood not tall enough, and they used a different style starter motor).

Certainly not 50 hp... 40 tops on a really good day.

Beautiful work. Some of my DBs have parts my Dad or Myself turned or milled running in them. Part of the challenge of keeping them going. And to answer the question you asked 6 months back... No I don't have one, the only 4x4 I have at the moment is a Carraro.

Re: RE: Re: RE: 1985 case 1594 Transmission

Are you sure that you could change between forward and reverse driving direction without using the clutch pedal? I have never heard abut a 885 with shuttle shift. It must have been one of those "US only" special build. Case called it a "mechanical shuttle" which you clutched, not common, but I know...

Not to split hairs, but DB 885 and 380 tractors were available in the US with shuttle reversers.
