RE: 1490 questions

Without seeing how the front hydraulics are plumbed, it is anyone's on why. Follow the plumbing, or get some pictures to explain how the fluid flow and controls are set up. I have family in central VA. A snow monster is headed their way, calling for 24-30". It would be nice to have a way to move it....

Thanks all for the help and pictures. Keep in mind this isn't going to be a show piece like the pictures sent to my email. Makes me feel a little guilty. If I could have kept the faded old paint I would have. Just not possible though when there are welds and new steel. tomwill, I hope the move works...

RE: Re: RE: Hunting pink paint in USA

Power red from CIH is the "orange" used on the chassis of the 1974 and up tractors to the 90 series(replaced Flambeau red, which was orange too). I guess I will try some of the "2150" IH red, which is what was used on the letter series Farmalls. I guess if I don't know what it is supposed to look li...

Re: RE: Hunting pink paint in USA

Hi Richbug Are you just looking for a few spray booms?, @ Home Hardware they carry Farm Equipment Paint (Beauti-Tone Rust-Coat) if you ask for the International Red Spray Booms that's about as close as you will get to Hunting Pink, Hope this helps A couple spray cans would do. A quart would be more...

Hunting pink paint in USA

Anybody know of a readily available, inexpensive hunting pink in the USA? I can get auto paint done in a custom tint, but not ready to drop that sort of money on the project yet. Any commercial spray cans out there that are close? Are any of the other tractor paints that I may have available "close ...

RE: Engine oi filler cap

No one has the steel type on this side of the Atlantic. Mid 1980s dad needed one or the 1210. Case wanted to sell a new neck and the newer plastic type. Price was excessive so dad installed a rubber plumbing expansion plug that uses a wing nut. It has been there ever since. About $3 at any decent ha...

RE: 1210 rear end height

My 1210 with 16.9-34 Firestone rears and 7.50-16 fronts sits nearly level. Yes the final drives could be rotated one hole if you need the clearance under the drawbar. Will give you about a 3" raise in the back. No reason to do it though if you don't need it, stability is impacted. The 18.4-30 tires ...

0 empty

40 full is what I have in my notes.

Be advised there are some Indian knock offs out there labelled for DB that are built for the wrong values. 0-200 if memory serves.

Olie, pressured oil to the head is external, not through the head gasket(1/4" line behind starter motor).

When you rebuilt the pump did you consider the relief valve maybe the problem. Yes relief is working properly. I adjusted it up 20# just to see what happened, then backed it back down. I used "plastigage" to check the rod and main bearings, in addition to a micrometer. Olie, if it was leaking oil i...

RE: 1494 with low oil pressure

So why do I have good oil pressure for the first half hour or so of running, then gradually it goes away? In my youth I built a 302 Ford and forgot a couple gallery plugs, I am familiar with the symptoms, pressure was directly proportionate to revs, temp never came into play. I am sure the plug is i...

1494 with low oil pressure

My 1494 has an issue with oil pressure. At start up it runs 45# at idle to 2400rpms. After an hours work it is down to 25-30# at full throttle to virtually nil(less than 5#) below 1000 rpms. I have been through the mechanics of the engine. Bearings are perfect, journals are perfect, oil pump rebuilt...

2D price

What is a running 2D worth in your part of the world. One at a local consignment auction in a few weeks, I have never seen one in the US before.

RE: 990 thermostat housing crack

I have welded them with good longevity. Might be easy/cheaper to get it repaired.
