880A Battery Clamp

Hi.

Both my 880As have no battery clamp to secure the battery properly. I have no idea what an authentic one looks like. Can anyone provide a photo and/or diagram of a genuine one to allow me to fabricate a replica?

Hi. Some belated feedback for my fuel system woes on 880A/540113. 1st, I successfully completed wrostling with the lift pump rebuild. It was a pretty straight forward task and is working fine. Thanks to all who contributed their advice. 2nd, I have bypassed the leaking fuel tap using flexible fuel l...

Thanks John.
I guess I'll just have to buy the suggested MBC bulbs and cross my fingers they fit.

RE: Re: RE: 880A Warning Lamps

Thanks for the feedback so far. I have been checking the CaseIH online parts catalogue ans found the following info: 3x BULB - 12 volt, 2 watt, MBC 544392 onward 2x BULB - 12 volt, 2.4 watt, MES 530001 to 544391 Since I have two 880As (540113/550795) I'll need to determine the suitable globes for bo...

880A Warning Lamps

Hi.
I'm trying to locate some replacement bulbs for the warning lamps on my 880A. Can anyone confirm the correct wattage and any international/universal part code that may assist my quest and further wrostling.

RE: Steering box bolts to gearbox lid stripped...helicoil an

Hi Would a helicoil be a suitable for use on the 3 bolts that secure the plate that connects the lower link sway bar to the reduction unit? My 880A has one bolt that is larger than the other two. It was like this when I purchased it. Obviously it has broken and the previous owner had it drilled out ...

Back again. Cleaning out the breather holes doesn't appear to have fixed the oil leak. I've also noticed that there is some wheel wobble when it's jacked up and the driveshaft will slide in & out of the reduction unit by about 1/8". Looks like I'll need to do a proper job and replace bearings (parts...

OK. Had some fun wrostling with my tractor yesterday. As suggested by Erkki, I checked the breather bolt and found that it was: 1. totally blocked with gunk/muck. 2. fitted in one of the lower bolt holes. So, I have given it a good clean out and reprositioned it to the top bolt hole on the final dri...

RE: 880A Selectamatic Final Drive Oil Leak

Thanks for the advice. After a bit more reasearch, my understanding is that the top bolt for the reduction cover (diagram #32) has a hole in it to allow pressure release. I'll check the bolt tomorrow and make sure the brather hole is clear. Does the bolt just have the hole drilled through the centre...

880A Selectamatic Final Drive Oil Leak

Hi My 1968 880A has developed an oil leak from the final drive/hub on the L/H wheel. My research (see attached diagram) indicates that I need to replace: - #26 O-ring - #27 oil seal I'm trying to source the correct O-ring and according to CaseIH parts database the O-ring details are: K623536, 3 1/4 ...

.... but wonder what the LH link connection does?
Looks like a heavy duty spring on the LH link, to pull the lift arms down and hence raise the CDU wheel off the ground for some more forward motion.

Any chance of seeing some pics of the available bits & pieces ???

880 Selectamatic transmission service

Hi I'm planning to do a service on the transmission: replace oil, filters, boots, etc. The oil is a little on the low side on the dip stick marker and the 3PL is behaving erratically when lifting/lowering an implement. I don't know how long since it was last serviced and thought it would be another ...
