obtain a v5

hi to all,

i exported my 990 to france a few years ago and i have come to think i would like to use it on the road now and again. problem is i don't have the v5 or any idea what the uk reg was.
anyone know if i can get one using the vin number or in any other way?

i believe so, i did check a few measurements with the dealer when i ordered them and they seemed right but i didn;t ever actually fit them (see above) so i can't tell you for certain 100%. however, a whole new steering shaft with ball nut, tubes and balls was only 90 quid odd from sparex so although...

finally got round to fitting the new steering shaft assy. although it arrived ages ago (thanks to madders and mr sykes). anyway, after having a)a new kid and b)cracking a couple of ribs (don't ask on either count!) i have found the time to fit the thing and it's like driving a new tractor...i didn't...

Showing my ignorance here again but i didn't realise you had to be a dealer to use sparex. i know the club shop can supply the part but will they ship to france?

Hi all, finally got round to getting to the MF dealer and ordered the ball tube from MF last week. I have just returned from attempting to pick it up but have returned empty-handed after they tried to charge me 63 euros (remember, i'm in france here). :shock: I couldn't really follow what the price ...

Thanks for that Joe and Matt! there is no such thing as a 990 which is not a selectamatic then? i'll grant you i am not that clued up on D.b.s, or tractors in general for that matter, but the problem i had was that following the sparex index via "990 selctamatic" to "steering" showed nothing but the...

ah, i've got it now..

mind you, that part says it's for implematic 990 but doesn't mention selectamatic. i guess they are the same steering system though?

still can't get the sparex site to show one...

i will hopefully be going to a town with an MF dealer tomorrow so i'm gonna try in there and will let all know..

help me out here..

just double checked on sparex.com under 990 selectamatic, front axle and steering. only 1 part listed and that's a seal for power steering pump.

what am i doing wrong?

i looked on sparex and couldn't find anything in 990 steering. what is sparex by the way, is it new stuff or more like a breakers network?

anyway,i'm going to try MF tomorrow so i will let all know what happens if i get anywhere.

Jim, I never knew that!

my ball bearings are 5/16" or roughly 8mm i think so i will be getting on the phone tomorrow to see if i can get some joy with MF.
